The Russian Finance Ministry is rounding off preparations to declassify data about diamond mining, exports and imports dating back to January 1, 2003, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.
The data refers to diamonds that fall under the ministry's own jurisdiction, the statement reads.
It is thought data about diamond mining in carats and in terms of value in Russia as a whole will be published in the press, initially for half-year periods, then on a quarterly basis.
Data on rough diamond exports and imports will be published on a quarterly basis and on an annual basis.
