All Sean Ryan really wanted was to become an artist.
But his first job, on the surface, seemed far from artistic.
"I started out repairing clocks and watches in high school," he said. The part-time job eventually would lead Ryan to a 23-year career in jewelry design.
"You have to learn the mechanics of repair and manufacturing," he said. The skills would be essential to later creating rings, pendants and jeweled eggs.
