Diamond sales at South Africa’s Trans Hex Group for the year ending March 31st 2004 were 38 percent higher in dollar terms at US$144.1 million, compared to US$103.7 million one year earlier, while in terms of rand the increase was 9.5 percent.
Attributable income for the year fell by 15 percent, resulting in an 18 percent decrease in headline earnings per share in rands, though in constant currency and diamond price terms, headline earnings per share rose by 29 percent over last year. In dollar terms, the headline earnings per share increased by 12 percent to 31 cents from 27 cents for the comparable period of 2002/2003.
