Diamonds in the news: Jaguar's crash proves costly with loss of diamond.
Excerpt:
Christian Klien, slammed his car into a metal barrier at a hairpin turn on the first lap of the Formula One race.
"We're searching a very large area for a very small diamond," Jaguar spokesman Nav Sidhu. "We're not expecting someone to turn up and say, 'Hey, we've found your diamond.'"
Jaguar will reward anyone who does hand in the 108-carat gem with a new X-series car worth 25,000 pounds, Sidhu said. Jaguar, owned by Ford Motor Co., had a diamond fitted in the nose of both its race cars (Mark Webber drives the other car) as part of an accord with Steinmetz Diamond Group.
