Diamond production at BHP Billiton during the quarter ending March 31st 2004 fell by 40 percent to 1,015,000 million carats from 1,704,000 million carats during the previous quarter ending December 31st 2003. This decrease reflects the completion of processing from a pocket of high grade material from the Koala pit in December 2003, though March 2004 quarter production was in line with the March 2003 quarter.
