Some men circle the brightly lit cases nervously, their eyes darting from bauble to gem.
Others go right to the salesclerks, asking for suggestions, then buy the first thing they see.
"I've had some men come in and just tell me, `You pick something,' " said Christi Albright, store manager at Van Adams, a jewelry store in Snellville, Ga. "All that such customers provide is a spending limit."
Jewelry shopping can intimidate even the strongest of men.
