Russia's second largest diamond polisher by capacity, Almazholding Management, is to build a US$1.5 million gold and diamond jewelry factory in Kaliningrad, with construction due to begin in the near future.
Privately owned Almazholding, which began polishing diamonds in 1999, currently has a small jewelry division with 30 employees that makes exclusive gold and diamond products largely for export, while the new factory will employ about 400 people.
