The Gokhran, Russia's state depository for precious metals and gemstones, plans to hold three auctions for rough diamonds weighing 10.8 carats or more this year, with the first taking place late March or early April.
Last year, the Gokhran held three auctions in 2003, selling 60 percent of the 405 lots on offer at the first auction, over 90 percent of 531 lots at the second, and 62 percent of 295 lots at the last auction of the year in October 2003.
