If you read his book, The Lexus and the Olive Tree you'll see that Friedman has some highly interesting ideas about how technology impacts foreign policy. He travels the world and often stops at technology plants.
BTW, US News' Washington Whispers has said that Friedman is being considered to repace Howell raines as Executive Editor of The New York Times.
