More info on Jennifer Lopez Ring

The Iowa Channel talks about J-Lo's ring. Here are the important bits:

"Entertainment Tonight" reports that it's a 6.1 carat intense pink, radiant cut diamond.

That kind of diamond is among the most sought-after in the world. And it's rare even to find a one-carat stone. The ring was custom-made by Harry Winston Jewelers.

The diamond's mounted on a classic platinum and 18-carat pink gold band with two, white diamond trapezoid-shaped, side stone accents.

Comments:

I think that J-Lo's ring is beautiful and rare. The cut and design is unique and that on a scale of 1-10 its definitly a 10! That ring is beautiful!

i would like to know if the diamond is naturally colored pink or radiation treated.

thank you

This ring is astonishing, absouloutly beautiful. My mouth is watering. I wish for one of theese on my christmas list. J-Lo is one lucky women. I wish her and Ben all the best of luck.

Posted by: Alexis on February 24, 2003 02:02 PM

I dont think that you should spend 2 million dollars on a ring! If it's a diamond or not what does it matter as long as looks like a diamond. People aren't going to know if it's a real diamond unless you are telling everybody "oh look its real!" then have someone steal it, so why spend 2 million dollars?! What matters is the love thats behind the ring.

Posted by: Maribel on March 21, 2003 08:25 PM

I have the same one as Jennifer knowing that makes me feel like a star!

Posted by: Christin on April 6, 2003 11:16 PM

This ring is a piece of ****, I may wear it as a toe ring on a day when I have socks on.

Posted by: EB on April 11, 2003 08:22 AM

i think it wonderful but she wont have it for long

Posted by: kearra on April 15, 2003 12:53 PM

This ring is amazing! It does show love! it shows that a man would spend an unlimited amount to please his wife, even if it is just a ring. Jennifer Lopez is such a lucky women. Wish the best for Jennifer and Ben. Hope this relationship actually lasts

Posted by: michelle on April 27, 2003 12:52 AM

If I were J-Lo, I'd sell the rock, buy a classic $3-5,000 ring and give the money to people who need it more than her finger does. Besides, a diamond looks fake when it's that big. Ben - sweet of you to buy it, but you should have gone for simplicity, and used the money blown on this ring to buy a few million homeless people on the streets a roof to cover their heads. I completely agree with Maribel - it's the love behind the ring. :)

My diamond is a modest .402 carats (D color round ideal cut SI1 platinum-set) and it's so beautiful that I went out 2 days ago and found the perfect bridal set to enhance this perfect symbol of love from my fiance. No way would I ever trade it for one that covers my entire finger beneath the knuckle! :D *laughs* oh well, to each her own! I guess to some, size (and money) matters.

You people who are saying that the ring is ugly or too big are just plain lame. You are only mad because you don't have a 6.2 carat pink diamond on your ring finger. And last I checked you could see her knuckle so keep complaining because thats all you can ever do is bring down others to make yourself feel better!

THAT JENNIFER LOPEZ ENGAGEMENT RING I THINK BEN AFFLECK BROUGHT THAT FROM TIFFANY'S.

Posted by: K. on May 10, 2003 05:52 PM

I think all the bad comments are that you are jealous. I am happy for her. Do I have a big ring.....no. But I am not a Hollywood star. If she was not a star she would not have that ring either. I am happy for her. I wish them all the best. Be happy for others and their happiness. Be happy yourselves and content with what you have.

Posted by: Faith on May 12, 2003 10:27 PM

i think that her ring is sweet as ever. i don't know if i would actually want a ring that big, but if i had i like her, shoot. but of cours, the love you share is more inportant than the ring you wear.

I think J.Lo has the most uniqe idea to think of sporting that pink diamond that everyone is trying to bite! I beleive she has worked hard to earn everything that she has including that pink diamond, but that doesn't even compare to all the hard work she's done to be where she is at today. I mean when your that rich and famous buying Bentleys and Mercedes, a rare pink diamond like J.Lo's ain't gonna hurt at all, and it's sad to see all those haters out there that can only HATE and not CONGRADULATE.

I just wanted to let everyone know. . . . I work for a company called Elegant Illusions, which specializes in copy jewels. We just found out that one of our manufacturers is offering baby pink cz's set in 14k yellow or white gold. We currently carry a ring very similar to JLo's in the store, but set with a canary cz. We can now special order it in pink! So if you want to sport jennifer's ring for a tiny fraction of that 1.2 million pricetag, head on over to our website at www.elegantillusions.com and find the location closest to you. the price for the piece in white gold will be somewhere around $400 I think. Can't remember off the top of my head. . . anyway, just a heads up! Take care all!

Okay, I'll admit, I don't care much for Jennifer Lopez. I think she's shallower than a worm's tear. Sure, she started out with very little. And because she started out as poor little "Jenny From The Block," her current opulence and extravagance coupled with that diva attitude of hers doesn't raise her stock in my eyes. As an actress and singer, I won't say that she *****, because I don't really watch her movies and I don't buy her albums. They just don't catch my attention.

Do I think she and Ben Affleck will last? Not really. I'm not saying that because I'm not fond of Jennifer Lopez, or because I think Ben Affleck is hot and wish it were me he was tied to. It's just that not everyone can be Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman... look at Tom and Nicole for starters. Only time will tell if Lopez and Affleck can go the distance.

As for the ring, it's Ben's money to spend, and if he felt like spending over a million on the pink diamond ring to show Jen how much he feels he loves her, then that's just how it is. I will admit that it's a gorgeous ring, and that I'll be asking my husband to buy me a replica of it, just because I think it's pretty, NOT because it's Jennifer Lopez's ring.

Posted by: Vickie Vega on July 14, 2003 11:51 PM

Hello, I am a fan of JLO's music and I really like her ring. I remember seeing it on an ABC interview a while back but didn't pay much mind to it since I'm not a huge fan of jewerly. Anyways to make a long story short, I received an e-mail about buying a replica of the ring from a website. When I visited the websites (and did some searching to find out more about the ring), the websites were calling it a kind "Jennifer Lopez inspired ring." So I thought that there had to be a ring similar to the one JLO is wearing now, just maybe a little different. So after some more seraching I found out that there was another actress who wore a ring almost exaclty like the one everyone's raving about now (including me since I have bought one from the internet so that I can get a closer look at how it looks in person). The link for the "not-so-after-all- JLO inspired ring" is located below:

Tell me what you think!http://shop.store.yahoo.com/thehollywoodcollection/debkerpindia.html

Posted by: ann on July 15, 2003 07:12 AM

I find it very funny that some people expect Jennifer to sell her ring and feed homeless people. Come on! Would you sell the ring your husband or fiancé gave you? Furthermore, how many of you are regularly donating money to charitable organizations that help starving children or the homeless? I would venture to guess no one. So before you begin judging others about what they are or aren't doing with the money, ask yourself how much money you’ve donated to help eradicate homelessness or starvation.

I also find it very disheartening that there are so many people ready to bring down another person because they have succeeded. Why not praise her efforts? I like Jennifer because she has shown American that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes—curves equal beauty.

Posted by: Liz on July 24, 2003 10:27 AM

I realize no one gives a rat's a** about what other people really think, but since this discussion is so lame anyway, I'll add an opinion. First, I can't understand why there is such a heated discussion over a ring to start with. If the ring is what J-LO wanted then that's her choice and nothing any of you say is going to change her mind. As for Ben A., if J-Lo is what he really wants, then nothing you say is going to change his mind. Also, if Ben is what J-LO really wants, nothing you say is going to change her mind. They are people too with their own opinions--just like you. And, did you guys ever stop to think they are truly happy with one another. Just because they are big stars doesn't mean that they can never find happiness. Unless you spend time with them and know them personally, how you judge or claim what they are thinking and what they really feel? Are you the judges of all--like God? I think not, so stop your stupid and childish judging when you don't have all the facts!!!! People need to stop worrying about other people and concentrate on their own lives and happiness!!!!!

Posted by: Spunky on July 29, 2003 08:53 AM

I think the ring is gorgeous. Unfortunately the world is ruined not only because there are starving children in the world, but because of all the HATERS in the world. I am not a famous star or anything, but I've experienced quite a deal of hating from others and it's really fucked up! JLo is a beautiful spanish woman and no one can change that, even you haters know that, that's why you hate. And it's one thing to hate, but to be racist too, quote"SHE'S CHEAP AND STUCK UP AND SHE'S NOTHING BUT A LITTLE PIECE OF SPANISH JELLO THAT STEPPED INTO HOLLYWOOD." That proves you are a racist piece of shit and people like you should be eradicated, however I think you're already punished enough living the existence that is you. Congrats JLO and Ben!!!!

Posted by: Latina on July 30, 2003 02:25 PM

I think the ring is abslutely beautiful! I think they have both worked their asses off for their money and if he wants to spend that kind of money on a ring, it is none of our business! I love her ring! It looks beautiful on her! Congrats to both of them!!

I think Jennifer is pretty until she opens her mouth to speak. She sounds a bit like Rosie Perez, who's voice gets on my nerves. I've heard her family speak - they don't talk like that.

I love the ring and want her to be happy and u should be happy for her too. Good luck Ben and JLo!;)

Wow! Where do I start? I search through the internet looking for wedding rings and think to myself," I wonder about pink diamonds...",. Before the "Jennifer and Ben" engagement, I never even knew that pink diamonds existed. So curiosity drove me to check it out. To no avail, I found myself here reading many of your comments. Freedom of speech, you've got to love it. All in all Ben made the purchase, Jennifer accepted the proposal and that is that. Now the fact that she has a very rare and extremely priced ring, has got a lot of people talking. In my own opinion love cannot be measured by material things. If people have comfortable means it is more likely that you will give your loved ones something more than the norm because they simply can afford it. Jennifer, whom I am not fond of personally, has not, at least in the public eye, shown a good track record of stability in the relationship department. So if her instability fails Ben, then he lost more than a good chunk of money, because I would like to think that he put much more than that into her as far as love goes which is the way it should be. Now for the ring itself, which is how I got here in the first place, I think it is very pretty yet too expensive for us. The pink diamond is very rare and in fact beautiful. To have something of that combination must be exciting. Ben would be much more exciting if you ask me but to each his/her own. One thing I will say about Jennifer and by no means in her defense but as a respected comment, is in refernce to an interview on MTV. While doing "diary" she made reference to the financial success her talents have brought to her as it has enabled her to purchase a home to which her family resides in. Jennifer was pleased to know that no matter what her Mother, Father and other family members would always have a place to live and not have to worry about it. As a show of gratitude of all their hard work in her she was able to give that much more back. I feel that is very humble of her. If I had the means I too would do in the same manner so that my Mother would never have to work another day in her life and spend time with her grandchildren or whatever else she pleased to do. Best of luck to all of those in love. Jennifer... get some marriage counseling. And last but not least if you ever see this, T.J I love you. Take care everyone.

Personally, I love the ring. So much so, I bought a truckload of them wholesale from czfantasy.com. Now I'm selling them for as little as $1.00 with a minimum purchase. $18.95 with no other discount. Beauty should be enjoyed!

I love big jewelry, but this ring is NOT out of proportion for J Lo's hand, which is a lot smaller than mine. Take a look... http://czfantasy.com/jlo.htm... While there, you can also read about how Ben surprised her with the ring (i.e. she didn't ask for it, pick it out, or pay for it as described in other posts). Yes, it cost a lot of money, but Ben makes a lot of money and apparently thought she is worth it. This is America and people can spend the money they make any way they like.

If anyone out there really expects her to sell it and give the money to the poor, let her step forward and do the same with her engagement ring. Even a $500 ring could feed a lot of people through Feed the Children. Then you could kiss your husband goodbye, and so could J Lo. Look at it this way. With the money they must pay in taxes each year, they're feeding thousands through welfare, food stamps, etc. Plus they probably donate generously to many charities to help reduce their taxes. Their celebrity and extravagance is good for the economy.

Like them or not, it is a museum-quality ring that may be in the Smithsonian someday next to the Hope diamond. I seem to remember that Richard Burton gave Elizabeth Taylor a HUGE engagement ring. 30+ carats? They married and divorced each other twice, in spite of the gorgeous ring. Ben and J Lo probably won't make it. 2 out of 3 marriages end in divorce. 99% in Hollywood. But that 1% chance keeps 'em coming back to the altar time and again. I've been there more than once my self.

All of these negative comments about JLO's ring and depicting her as a shallow and stuck-up person is just plain ridiculous. Lots of us don't even know her as a person! (You've been reading too many magazines.) Bottom line, it's a beautiful ring, for goodness sake. To the females who have made negative comments. Would you ladies turn down a ring like that should your fiance give you one? And for you guys, if you had it like Ben, would you not want to slip a ring as gorgeous as what JLO sports on her finger on your girl/fiance? Honestly, how many of you would be running to a nearby pawn shop or private party who has the bucks to try to sell your ring in order to feed the hungry or provide shelter for the homeless? My personal take on that particular subject is that the "government" should be more involved. (Now there's a subject for you to bite your teeth into.) I mean, let's keep it real. If it weren't for the recession and so-called trillion dollar debt (??) perhaps the government could have done more to help the less fortunate souls in this country. Strange though, how the government could find funds to finance a war and the studies of grasshoppers and other miscellaneous b.s., if you can believe that. And you're bitching and complaining and showing signs of jealousy over a person and her ring?? Please. Give me a break 'cause I don't get it. Nonetheless, all I have to comment is simple: LIVE AND LET LIVE. And if you don't have anything positive (or nice) to say about someone -- anyone, keep your negative comments to yourself. Don't put them on display just 'cause you may not live the fabulous life or have the material things she (or anyone else) may have. My goodness, isn't the world we live in in enough turmoil as it is without the nasty and negative comments you've exhibited on this (and perhaps other) websites against individuals who have done absolutely nothing to you except to live their own lives? Get a grip and live your own life without trying to bring down another individual who's living theres.

Congratulations to Ben and Jen. I sincerely hope they both continue to have a wonderful life and a successful marriage.

o.k.sorry,my english isn't very good,i'm from germany.there a many dirty words in your language ;-) but:i can't understand,to waste so much time for a normal(!!)person.there are so many people that look nice and even better all over the world and they didn't have so many operations and make up done, just to look better than others, like this jennifer.they all a natural looking good! if everyone of us have doctors, visagists and so on taking hours to get you ready, hairspecialist making hair longer, the next day shorter and the next day curly.work with tricks on photos with cream, shadows to get not-good-looking things away of your body, example cellulite(do you know that she has one!) or work with tricks to get just an other face-shape (!) on the photos.... and so on, if erveyone of us would have everyday SIX HOURS time to let getting you ready, before you leave your house. EVERYONE would look at least like her!but these famous people become the money FROM US !!(buy their album, concerts a.s.o.)and then they hate us,because we didn't leave their privacy.i think they should't become more money from us. and: it isn't very hard to look good,if you become so much money stick in their ass,to buy docotors, visagist a.s.o. they get lots of best clothes for free.think about it!you don't have to look up to those people, your are all at least looking good/better, just naturally, without chemicals. it is funny that f. example(!) this jennifer, tooks more than five hours to get her ready for a video on the beach.you are normally very natural on the beach. and even then, this jennifer take so long time to look good! do you all know like she looks years ago? no one looked at this time at her, when she had still her first face, her first nose... many people, boys an girls, are very naive, to think, that she (and other famous people) looking really so,like on photos. they are all full of tricks, plastic and our money. and it is very sad, that some girls make their live worst, just to look up to those people, doing operations like them, are ill because they didn't eat anymore, and think they are not so good people. do you ever think about that, about that change in our live. just because these overdone opinions about f.e.jennifer.....to me,before you give me ugly names. i'm not looking SO bad,but i have normal problems, like every girl. f.e.i don't like my hair very much.and NEVERTHELESS i don't like people, that think no end of themselves.that is one thing that not every famous people have, but j.lo. i would never buy something of her, because i know that would be the next haircurl, piece of an operation, or make up-bill for her.if she still buy those things herself at all.STOP giving her more money, she isn't ist worth anymore.she is not good to her fans! i'm defenetly not jealous! (that would make me laugh) there are so many facts: i can get out of my house, without fear, that someone se me without makeup and styling or that people make NOT professional photos of me. j.lo pay much money for unprofessional snapshots- photos,so no one could see her problems(like everyone has) because they/we all where shocked, that she would be an completely other person, then this person, some dream of.everyone, who know, how she is really looking, wouldn't say anymore, that she is good looking. i let her live, but she also should do it! she gets on (not only) my nerves. she is, let's face it, like everyone,a normal person. her job isn't harder than jobs in other branches. and i have more respect for people, that come by something honestly!
so attack me,but you all have to think about it. don't look up,because you are on the same level, even more worth, than you think.because your are lucky, and don't have to simulate this.i have pity on her! and i really enjoy my life, even if my hair isnt't so curly!

Any woman out there who can't admit that this ring is absolutely gorgeous is just plain JELOUS!! I would love to have so much money that a man would have to buy me a peice like this one to make my eyes pop! This ring sure would feed a lot of hungry children but I am sure that they both have donated large amounts of money to charities and continue to. It's all of us (The Fans) who make people like Jennifer Lopez filthy rich and it's well worth it. It's a tough job keeping a good image in Hollywood, not to mention keeping those millions of FANS in the world happy and coming back for more. The ring looks gorgeous on her and accents her beauty!! If you have the money..why not??

Posted by: Trish on August 29, 2003 03:54 PM

i'm a woman, so i've gotta be a true woman and admit the truth: the ring is absolutely georgeous, one of the most beautiful that i've ever laid my eyes on; HOWEVER, IT SAYS NOTHING ABOUT THE WOMAN THAT'S WEARING IT AT ALL...JLo is a KNOCK-OFF..CAN'T SING...CAN'T DANCE...CAN'T ACT..NO TALENT WHATSOEVER..HAS NO CLASS...A "REAL" SLUT, and most importantly, that BITCH HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON HALLE BERRY..i was glancing through a People en Espanol (Magazine) and they had JLo as being the best dressed (#1) and Halle Berry somewhere along like (#6). First of all..what the FUCK ARE YOU WETBACKS SMOKING?!..whatever it is, it must be some potent shit..i'd get OFF IT- AND QUICKLY before you do some real damage...and for future reference, keep HALLE BERRY OUT OF YOUR MAGAZINE, for she's in a CLASS ALL HER OWN...

Posted by: jeff on September 4, 2003 06:19 PM

There are very few things I fear in life. These 29 years on this earth have left me with only a handful of things to be afraid of. Paper cuts are one. Those little tiny, penetrating slices on your fingers, God how I hate those. And working in an office, I see my fair share of paper cuts. One would think that the high volume of paper cuts I get each week would make me immune to them. Quite the contrary, it makes me hate them even more.

But I was always told to face my fears. At least I think I was. It was either advice from my father or something I picked up from Dwight Schultz on the A-Team.

With that piece of advice in hand, it was with great fear and trepidation that I headed into the theater to see Jennifer Lopez in ENOUGH.

Perhaps I need to delve into more detail.

I Hate Jennifer Lopez.

I know, I know, hate is such a strong word. My mother always told me that Hate was a word I shouldn't use. At least I think it was my mother. It was either my mother or Charlotte Rae from the Facts of Life. Anyway, hate is something I reserve for only a proud few entertainers who have cursed the silver screen for far too long. Jennifer Lopez is at the top of this list.

There are so many reasons that we, the general public should dislike J-Lo. I mean, right off the bat, with her stupid abbreviated name. Because it would take far too much effort to actually use the 5 syllables it takes to say her name. And there's that hyphen. You can never trust a person with any sort of punctuation in their name. Don't believe me? Perhaps you should ask our good friends O.J. Simpson and William Kennedy-Smith. And for all intensive purposes, Lopez (going by J-Lo) has become a one named artist. Adding her name to a long list of annoying, one named performers, like Cher, Prince, Madonna, Taco, Bob Seger, M, Grand Funk Railroad, and Desree'. OK, I realize that Bob Seger and Grand Funk Railroad aren't one-named performers; I just wanted to see if you were paying attention.

It's not just her annoying name that I loathe; it's her entire banal existence that has annoyed me to the point of anger. In interviews, J-Lo (ugh) always talks about her modest upbringing, living in a house somewhere with 450 of her brothers, sisters, and cousins in Brooklyn. And while I have no problem believing that, it does lend itself to an interesting theory I've come up with. The harder an entertainer had it growing up, the more flamboyant they become after making it big. Don't believe me? Look at all these hip hop stars that came from the projects and make it big. What's the first thing they do? They buy the most expensive car, the most expensive clothes, and wear jewelry that would make both Mr. T and Liberace wince. Hell, some of these guys even go with an Ice Grill, which is getting diamond teeth put in. Yes, you too can be so rich that one day you can embed your teeth with fine jewelry. It's this kind of insanity that you see on MTV every week. Like on the disturbing show CRIBS.

Personally, I believe that MTV will personally bring about the ruination of our world. I fundamentally believe that shows like CRIBS will be the fingers that unravel the fabric of our civilization. If you haven't seen the show, I'll do a recap for you. CRIBS feature the homes of the rich and famous, from stars like Master P, to Mariah Carey, to the Backstreet Boys. It sounds innocent enough, but when you begin to look into the homes of these millionaire children, you have to wonder if our civilization doesn't need unraveling anyway. Every time I have watched the show, my mouth is wide open, amazed at the sheer capitalistic undertakings of some of these people. Gold bathroom fixtures, platinum dinnerware, flat screen televisions everywhere, cars with DVD players, and XBOX's, and ice cream makers. And for the most part, the owners of these expensive homes have no idea what exactly they have, other than the fact that it was very, very expensive, which is probably why they own it. And while I can't place any logic to it, I'm convinced that any entertainer that grew up poor must horribly overcompensate by buying an ungodly amount of stuff as soon as they get their first fat paycheck.

But how could a harmless show like CRIBS be responsible for the end of our society? Personally, I'm convinced that in a cave somewhere, Muslim fundamentalists are watching this and enraged at the fact that the car Master P bought Lil Romeo cost enough to feed their village for an entire year.

And Lopez embodies this overly opulent movement. She is their devil queen, crowned in white gold wearing a Vera Wang She-Goblin dress and holding a pitchfork forged from the slave pits of Tiffany's. Her humble beginnings are little more than an afterthought now, as is as far removed from humble as one can get.

Take her escapade last year. While heading to a video shoot in Miami for the Bono produced cover of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On?" (A song where all profits went to charity), Lopez sent outrageous requests for all sorts of freebies that she apparently gets for all her appearances. Check out the pretentious list of requests that had to be made for this charity event, a list of items that cost upwards of $45,000 dollars, at The Smoking Gun:

THE SMOKING GUN...

Again, I'm getting away from the point. Jennifer Lopez embodies everything that is wrong about the modern entertainer. She can't act or sing, but has excelled in both fields. Well, perhaps excelled is the wrong word. She has been paid very well for appearing in really mediocre films, and has received a fair amount of money to sing songs written by people with actual talent. When you look at the body of Lopez's work, there isn't a whole lot there, as opposed to her body, which…. Well I'll let you finish that joke yourselves. Her films are of a lackluster quality, and they don't make a whole lot at the box office, yet she continues to make a slew of money for churning out these underwritten pieces of bile. Here are some examples. Anaconda - Easily her highest grossing film and easily the worst piece of garbage ever put to film.

The Cell - The movie worked, since I felt like I was in a tiger cage being poked with reeds for the two hours I was watching it.

Selena - Arguably the 9th or 10th best film about the 9th or 10th best Hispanic singer of all time. It makes La Bamba look like Lawrence of Arabia.

The Wedding Planner - A romantic comedy, where the two leads' only chemistry came from the dealer who supplied them the crack they must have been smoking when they made this film.

Money Train - Another Woody and Wesley film. She took the role that Rosie Perez turned down. That should tell you something.

Out of Sight - OK, this was a good film, but I'm convinced that Soderbergh could make a good film with Gary Coleman, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jared from the Subway commercials, and a sack of doorknobs. The man is just that good.

-------

Now we have Enough, directed by Michael Apted. As if you couldn't figure out from the first two pages, I had no real urge to see it, but I'm a fan of horror, and J-Lo films are the scariest things out to date. Enough follows the exact same pattern as all her other films. Lopez is the most miscast actress in Hollywood today. I'm all for equality, but some of the parts she's been given are so far out of her acting range and general demeanor, that it makes no sense to have her in that part. She has played several police officers, and only effectively played it once (again, thank Soderbergh). She doesn't work as an action hero, and is far too deadpan to be a romantic lead. In Enough she plays a battered wife named "Slim". Right away, you have to wonder about the woman with the most famous ass in the world being called "Slim". Not to bore you with too much plot, since there isn't enough plot to talk about anyway, but Slim meets a guy, falls in love, then the guy turns into the angry husband stereotype we've seen in hundreds of films. With no real rhyme or reason, the guy gets fed up with repeatedly fucking Lopez, and decides to plant his seed elsewhere. Now right away, you have to wonder what the hell is going on in the minds of the Producers of Enough. Sure, we'd all like to fuck Lopez; no one's going to deny that. We just don't want to have to talk to her or have here there in the morning.

The movie goes through several uninteresting twists and turns, eventually leading Lopez's character to the conclusion that she must get in shape and kick a little ex-husband ass. ZzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz. Oh, sorry, I fell asleep in mid-review. Yeah, so, the guy dies and she's a master of self-defense.

I was recently appalled while reading a review by Roger Ebert (which is nothing new), when he said in a negative review for Enough: "Jennifer Lopez is one of my favorite actresses."

What? How is that possible? With a body of work as bad as hers, how could you call her "one of your favorite actresses"? Ebert is obviously suffering from the sat brain malady that ailed Siskel all those years ago if he puts the words "Favorite", "Actresses", and "Jennifer Lopez" together.

Lopez seems to be among this list of stars that is popular for no other reason than being a no-talented piece of ass. There's a growing list of these kinds of entertainers. Britney Spears and Mandy Moore are among them. Pop Music-Movie Actress hybrids who seem to succeed based solely on their high-masturbatory factor among the 18-49 audiences. Making predictable movies, recording albums with songs written by talented people with a lower masturbatory factor, and claiming that they didn't know it would be a "big deal" when they wear dresses with a neckline that practically goes down to their vertical smile.

Lopez is a little more than a modern day Carmen Miranda. Remember, the Hispanic actress that wore fruit on her head and sang all those great Latin songs. The question is, can you remember a film Carmen Miranda was in? Or name one of her famous songs? Probably not. Lopez is a modern day Carmen Miranda. Her films will be relegated to the Oxygen Network, her music will be remembered as part of the NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC compilation, and instead of a bowl of fruit, she will be remembered for her shapely ass.

After watching the ALMA awards this weekend, I think I'm starting to understand why Lopez has become so popular. With constant pressure from every minority group to make more racially diverse films, studios are casting these untalented, attractive minorities in a variety of roles. Sometimes it works (see 'Halle Berry' in 'Monsters Ball'), sometimes it doesn't (see 'Halle Berry' in Every Other Film she's Ever Been in).

For whatever reason, Lopez is a star, and for whatever reason, I am enraged by this concept. For this reason, I rally the battle cry:

JENNIFER LOPEZ MUST BE DESTROYED.

Now, I don't mean destroyed literally. I mean her career. We must eradicate the Jennifer Lopez's and the Mandy Moore's and all the other untalented idiots that occupy the media day and night.

But by what course of action do we do this? Simple, non-violent resistance. If there is one constant in this industry, it's the self-destruction of the multimedia superstar. Look at Madonna. Didn't she seem a lot more humble after dropping the cross platform bombs that were the Erotica Album, The Sex book, and the movie Body of Evidence? If quality of work is any indication, Lopez is doing a fine job of destroying her own career. I mean, that ass can't stay that firm forever. And when that happens, all she'll have to rely on is her talent. So suffice to say, she has nothing to rely on.

Hope she looks good with a bowl of fruit on her head.

What a bunch of HATERS. Don't hate the player, hate the game. Losers. If you "people" are hating so much why don't you get off your butts and make something of yourselves and stop whining about what other people have. After all this is AMERICA. You CAN make of your life what you wish. You can be the next J.Lo. Your the kind of peeps that waste your life crying about what you don't have and hating on others for all the hard work they have done to get what they have. J.Lo deserves EVERYTHING that she has. She has worked hard and struggled to get to wear she is at. Learn the background B4 u start talking smack! She was living in a one room shack, broke as a joke, eating pizza B4 she was able to break into the bizz. Goes to show that if u really want something bad enough, u won't mind struggling for a bit.

Posted by: Carmen on September 22, 2003 11:24 AM

i'm very happy, there are more people, thinking the same!
THANK YOU!!!!!
and a big hello to 'I_hate_J-ho' an all the others, they are not naiv, not crude, and not without experience!
------------------
And to you, you 'I-love-j.lo' 's and try'ers to imply us jealousy.
Did you ever see an really good looking person.
I don't think so, because then you would not
content oneself with little (j.lo) You are too young to be experienced, please grow up first, and then give comments! Surely you are all under 30years. So your 'loving-j.lo-comments' can't be take seriously, they are just teenie-style. You would laugh about yourself in some years.
-----------------------

I think, many of you mistrust to say something about j.lo because, other one would answer without level, f.e. 'You just be enviously....'. i can laugh about that!
I laughing, when TV shows you, that these self-proclaimed stars, have normal problems, like poor c.diaz with skin-problems and the best thing: J.lo isn't happy, because her boy-friends always looking after better looking girls... so they have to accept, that they are normal!
I wish I would have the chance to meet jenn.lo. to say, that I hold her cheap.
And is there another wish:
I would like to begin an tv-serial: 'Showing all the truths!! The naked truths !!! ' Let get, f.e. Jenn.lo. on the screen: without sponsored clothes, without background singers and without (8-hours-)make-up. All of you would recognize, that she can not sing and don't look good.
And no one would recognize and realize her. Believe me.
------------------------
Is anyone attracted attention, that she never break into a passion of tears, authenticly ??
The reason: because her make up wouldn't look so good anymore after that, and the face would look ugly.
But mutability is the spot, that making actors, good actors. But j.lo only want (or just try it :-))) to look good,in every situation even in her films. but i can't see this permanent ugly grin of her, anymore.
As an actor, you also have to cry, making, grimaces, an -Sometimes look even unprofitable ! etc. That means good actoring
--------
But she has FEAR to look as she really look without make up, and thousand of people can see her so ugly, on screen!
So she will be never a good actor! she just want to look good in every situation. The whole producing of her films exists of :
'Ohhh,.... how will i look good in this and that situation.....! ohhhhhhh!'
She is always just take advantage of a situation.
I'm happy, not to be her!
And I'm lucky, I'm also not poor, not looking ugly....
but I am ALSO happy with my full love life !!!!!!! So with my luck, I don't need to be jealous! :-)))))))

and:
if some say: 'oh, there are so many haters..'
-------------------
O.k. our comments are sometimes full of anger..., i admit
That's just because, we saw 4years now, this simulating and lying j.lo.
And it is so exhausting telling all of you naives, the truth. the list of arguments and the truth of her, is so long.
To helping the rest of you, making you wake up, and see and accept the truth, is a long-winded discussion, and make us impatient.
Please finally catch it!

Posted by: tami_bee on September 28, 2003 08:23 AM

ok, no one ask her to sell her ring buttttttttt, she could donate some of those millions that she has to charity. read it folks, jlo doesn't donate anything. one time she donated 25,000.00 to match another group but that is it. if that isn't selfish i don't know what is. i think she is very selfish and thinks she is some kind of goddess. she spends millions on homes, cars and shopping sprees of $430,000.00 at one time. jlo, you are not from any block that i have ever known. i hope you have 5 more $9 million dollar homes. you are a fake who uses the lies to feed on the young people of today and you never worked any harder than the people of new york (firefighters, etc.)do everyday of there lives. you came from new york and while 911 was happening to everyone else in the usa, you where donating a small 25,000.00 to 911. while you where out getting married to chris and spending millions on homes, cars and cloths, YOUR CITY WAS CLEANING UP THE BODIES OF YOUR NEIGHBORS. when ask what you thought of the war, you said quote "I try not to think of these things". jlo, when u got that name it fit you perfect but you should spell it j low because you are. yes, you are a true latino because when we true AMERICANS were in shock of 911, you was out shopping and planning another wedding. I THINK THEY SHOULD SEND YOU BACK TO THE BLOCK WHERE YOU CAME FROM. ANYONE WHO IS THAT COLD HEARTED ABOUT OUR COUNTRY DOESN'T DESERVE TO MAKE THE MONEY IN THIS COUNTRY AS YOU DO. YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN THE PEOPLE WHO BOMBED THE WORLD TRADE CENTER. WHAT A EVIL, EVIL PERSON.

Posted by: SWVALADY on October 1, 2003 03:45 PM

that was good facts of you, 'swvalady'. I'm not an american, but you tell the truth !!!
------
it is a shame that still so many people deploy jenn.lo. Whatever she does, they don't care. They love her. very naive.

but this permanent changing boy friends shows, that they saw the truth. the real selfish, arrogant, egoistic woman.Run away in the right time!

It is traditional etiquette for a man to spend one month’s wage on his girlfriend’s engagement ring. Assuming that Ben Affleck earns at least £15 million a year the purchase of THAT ring is nothing more than old-fashioned good manners.
