Celebrating the jewels of JAR

. On display at Somerset House in London is the work of the world's most respected and reclusive jeweler, who hides his name like he buries a diamond in a gem-set lattice. . Behind the acronym JAR is Joel Arthur Rosenthal, an American artist-jeweler in Paris, who has been working for 25 years for a clientele as elite and rarefied as his one-of-a-kind creations. . "The Jewels of JAR, Paris" (from Nov. 2 to Jan. 26) is being held at the Gilbert Collection under the auspices of Lord Rothschild. The only other display by the intensely private designer was a one-night show (also by torchlight) in New York 15 years ago.
